Questions About the Temple of Isis and Sacred Sexuality

Naomi
Where might I learn more about what the priestesses did in the Temple of Isis, and how to translate those practices into now?

What are some ways/daily practices for women to embrace their sacred sexuality and awaken their sacred power?

Also, what are your perspectives or  Temple Dancing, and where might I find more information?

i have definitely been about this life in past incarnations and worked as a sex worker (as a stripper) in this life, which is perhaps a poor modern day equivelant of the work done in ancient times, yet I feel that it is a residual or derivation of that, for women in a different/lower state of consciousness, as I was at the time.  Now, I feel strongly called to the path of the sacred sexuality priestess/temple dancer, and am wondering where to start.  My intuition is guiding me greatly, yet I would love to hear others' perspectives and wisdom.

Thank you,

Naomi

Maryam's energy body class is a great place to start, and if you go to the Maryam's Diary section of the member portal for the April Sacral Chakra book club video--there's SO many resources. I really liked the meditation Maryam gave about bringing the energy up from the sacral chakra through the body and storing it in our solar plexus. It's mentioned again in more detail in one of the books she recommends. That series was awesome! Also, belly dancing!

I love this discussion and this is some of the work Ive been doing also for years. Sacred sexuality is so natural to me, its so much of my internal relationship to myself and its at times it can be very raw and passionate, like I definitely would love to be apart of high vibrational spiritual community spaces that were open to group sex and sexual magic. One day I was also thinking about femme women of color and how much has been projected onto our sexualities by society and how nice it would be to have safe, spiritual spaces where we could just lounge in goddess pleasure, naked, bathe, be outside and for those who choose to engage in massage and sexual practices with each other.

One thing I can recommend is Damiana which is an herb that is an aphrodisiac. I was in herbal school and we had to choose 1 herb to take & create a special relationship with for the entire year and that was the herb I choose. Being mesoamerican its also an ancestral plant for me and I did receive a lot of information about my ancestors and women in my family and our relationship to pleasure, dance and sensual music. You can bathe in aphrodiasiacs, drink them in teas or take them as tinctures and ask the plant for guidance & support. Other plants that can be supportive are hibiscus and cacao.

Thank you, sister!  I watched the Sacred Chakra Energy Body class yesterday.  Mind = Blown.  I put every single book from the book club in my Amazon cart lol.  I have not watched Energy Body 1.0 yet, but will do so.  And I've been belly-dancing my little hips off lately.  Love it, thank you!

Thank you, sister.  My sacral chakra has actually been inactive for years, for most of my life, probably, and I am just now stepping into reclaiming this power, so I am grateful for your reply.  I am also a woman of color, and your comment has me contemplating what has been projected/imprinted into women of color specifically, as well as generationally and through slavery.  Definitely something I would like to research more.  I love the idea of a safe Goddess space!  So, Damiana communicated with you about these things?  That is so beautiful.  Do you think it would also be helpful for me to also choose a plant that is Ancestral?  I am really loving that idea, as my Ancestors are a huge part of my life.  I also really like hibiscus and cacao, especially cacao.  So yummy.

Hey Naomi, great questions!  I've been thinking a lot about sacred sexuality & harnessing sacral energy as well.  I really enjoyed this podcast that talks about working with sacral energy in the past and in the present (esp. in sex work) and the inherent challenges of that.  https://soundcloud.com/badandbruja/episode-3-stripper-hoes-phone-sex-cam-girls-oh-my-sex-work-today-the-sacred-whore

I also love Audre Lorde's "The Uses of Erotic: The Erotic as Power" https://www.cds.hawaii.edu/sites/default/files/downloads/resources/diversity/SisterOutside.pdf

I'm interested to hear how you develop in working with sacral energy.  Oooo!  Last thing, I really enjoy this podcast.  There are a lot of good tips on refamiliarizing yourself with sacral energy there http://sexloveliberation.com/podcast/

Hope this helps *heart emojis*
