Greetings community,
i haven't ever posted on the forum before, and feel called to ring a little bell, calling us Palestinians and Palestine-lovers to say hello to each other, seeking some connection in resonance in this community, holding the complexity and nuance of un-spelling oppression within and without, while recognizing the intense reality of struggle that ensues...
i have felt excited to see some Palestinian folks in the community meetings in the past, and wanted to make a space for us to find each other... how are you doing? how might we connect?
a bit about me: i am of Palestinian (Ramallah) and Greek descent, living on Abenaki ancestral lands (aka. "vermont"), i've been in the NEMS community for a year and a half, am a decade into my own deep healing journey (through chronic illness and injury...)... this moment is bringing up lots of nuanced contemplation - my former ways of being activated into outrage and despair no longer work for me... and i am curious to have conversations that hold space for the evolution of our reckoning and our agency as Palestinians in diaspora...
just dropping this in here, and welcoming others to share or reach out to connect- to whatever degree. and holding lots of love and respect for each of you as we hold this moment with great care.
with love,
cassandra
